Jeffrey Sonnenfeld is the Senior Associate Dean for Leadership Studies at Yale University’s School of Management, The Lester Crown Professor of Management Practice, and Founder and President of The Yale Chief Executive Leadership Institute, the world’s first “CEO College.” He spent ten years as a professor at the Harvard Business School and has been named one of the world’s “ten most influential business school professors” by Business Week and one of the “100 most influential figures in governance” by Directorship. Sonnenfeld received his AB, MBA, and doctorate from Harvard. Winning many national awards for scholarly research and teaching, Sonnenfeld published 200 articles and seven books, including The Hero’s Farewell and Firing Back and authored the 1998 Report of the Blue Ribbon Commission on CEO Succession for the NCD. He served on many scholarly journal editorial boards, a dozen corporate and nonprofit boards. Addressing chief executive leadership, succession and board governance, he often appears on the major TV networks, is a commentator for CNBC, a columnist for Chief Executive Magazine and contributes regularly to The Wall Street Journal, Fortune and The New York Times.
